What is a red tag label?

Red Tag warnings are a new safety precaution for homes and businesses alike. They’re issued when an unsafe gas appliance is found, which could lead to carbon monoxide leaks or CO2 exposure! The two types of red tags

The severity of this issue varies depending on what type it falls into, there are two different potential types of red tag labels.

1. Type A indicates more severe problems. These issues will require immediate action. The gas company will shut off gas due to a severe immediate threat. You will be required to replace the damaged appliance to restore gas.
2. Type B stands for less serious conditions. These issues are usually unseen and very difficult to detect without experts on hand. For these less immediate issues, you will be given a 30 day period to replace the appliance. If you are not able to replace the appliance in 30 days further action will be taken by the gas company. 

Both of these different types will require assistance from a professionally trained and certified HVAC company. To pass the follow-up inspection the work must be completed by a certified technician.
